Hi Zoe, I love this flower...you've captured its unique color and look beautifully. I am awaiting Diane's bloom and that of Hamamelis vernalis! I will check out your previous post.

LOL at Karen's "smelly vision." 'Jelena' is such a beauty. I'm going to have to wait a long time for my Witchhazel blooms.

Hi Zoe, how delightful. Jelena is a beauty. My Diane has opened a few flowers as well, but she should be more of a reddish orange like yours instead of the yellowish she is showing right now. Jelena might have to join her in my garden!

Hi Zoe - everytime I see a photo of Witch Hazel I think oh I must get one of those but I wonder what they are like the rest of the year?

How very handy, I just came over to have a look for the Witch Hazel post from last time!
Mine certainly isn't that one, I wish it was, it's fabulous!

Thank you again for the wonderful book, I rarely win anything so perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket this week too!

They are beautiful flowers and that is a particularly attractive combination of colours.

Beautiful photo, Zoe! I've seen witch hazel pictured on Gail's and Frances' blogs as well; now I really want one of my own!

I saw the lovely birdhouse you were given on your other blog; what a thoughtful present! You will enjoy watching its visitors this winter.

I know that 2008 has not been an easy year for you. I wish you a happy and healthy New Year, Zoe!

Hi Zoe,
I enjoyed both posts. It is so interesting that the word comes from bending for use in water divining.
What a beautiful plant for blooms this time of year. Your photography is smashing.
Happy 2009!

Hi Zoe,
I've been missing your posts lately. In case you feel like a trip to Seattle in Feb we are having a garden bloggers get together on Feb 7. http://greenwalks.wordpress.com/
I know you would be welcome and I have a comfy couch if needed.

Hope your worries are fewer this year than last.

The wonderful petals remind me of one of my old favourite junk foods - a commercial sponge cake made by Steinbergs grocery store in Montreal - flavoured with orange (no doubt artificial orange)and then dipped in orange coloured descicated coconut icing. Sounds disgusting, but I assure you it was delicious. Hope today is a good day for you.

I was sitting here thinking I had commented this beautiful witch hazel, but then I remembered I went and commented on the first post. Must be losing my mind. Anyhow, I have this funny quirk that it is a nice thing for all bloggers to have a comment on their first post-I see you have tons now. You just can't beat the witch hazels. Jelena is lovely.
